Winds of Change

News from the work front.  As of 2pm this afternoon, I am in the home stretch of this particular chapter in my work life.  Effective April 22, I will no longer be employed at Plow & Hearth.  It was an interesting 4 years and I learned a lot, I really did.  It's just a little depressing that it feels like another career dead-end for me.  I had really hoped that my next position would be that of Director of Inventory Control somewhere but I don't think that will be the case.

So the winds of change are blowing, I just don't know what direction yet.

  1. Sorry Dina. Losing a job is tough, but it can also be a great opportunity. I will pray the right one pops up for you very soon.

  2. Oh geez Dina, I'm sorry. I'd been hoping that things would smooth out. You know the old saying, where one door closes another one opens - this could be the beginning of big new opportunities for you!

I saw a glimmer of hope this week - a good friend of mine from our business was laid off, and he had three excellent offers within a few days. I was so happy for him! It kind of gives me the warm fuzzies that there are still great jobs out there for the right people.

  3. I'm dreadfully bad at knowing the right thing to say, so I'll just say...I'm here, if you just need a pair of nonjudgemental ears to hear you slam and curse your employer. I can get into that.

  4. Sorry, Dina. It's hard to leave what you know. But as others have said, it's an opportunity to find a great new job. Hugs to you (and Rip sends leaping Cardi kisses).

  5. Thanks everyone for your kind comments. In all honesty, I am relieved to have this chapter come to an end. I haven't been happy there for quite some time and recent events just gave me the kick in the butt I needed to do something about it. It's all good!
