Renovations

Last night, Understanding House Mate and I visited a local garden/landscaping company.  UHM wrote the check that will start the process of having the back yard redone.  There are plans for gravel pathways, plantings and - my personal favorite - a small fenced area designed to separate and secure dogs who don't get along.  Work should start w/in the next 2 weeks.  We are breaking the process into two parts since the area is in a drought and we really don't want to plant anything right now.  Part one will be all the hard-scaping.  Part two, the planting, will probably occur this fall.

Before, during and after pictures to come!

  1. UHM says the Horde is accepting donations to finance their new outside space! We will test various sizes and materials in order to recommend the ideal Cardigan play area.

  2. Ooh, I love yard projects. The Husband has finally asked for a moratorium on them - mainly due to the fact that he generally gets roped into helping.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics!

  3. Best part is - we've hired this project out! No hard labor for either one of us. Except, of course, keeping poop scooped while they are doing the work :)

  4. I am doing this too. By tomorrow afternoon, I will have a sweet white picket fence enclosing my front yard, and the back was already fenced, so I will have two separate areas should I ever need it. Best of all, I will enjoy my front yard more with the critters able to be there too. In the back, I can be isolated from the neighbors when I want, or I can be social out front!
