Wonder Twins

At the National this year we had the pleasure of meeting, again, Becky Dean and Drew.  Drew and Moira are half sisters through their mother.  The girls are A LOT alike - it's a little scary.  We've dubbed them the Wonder Twins - I got the name of the old cartoon wrong, I was thinking of Power Twins - but Wonder seems to fit these two better as we often 'wonder' what the they are thinking.  Photos are by our good friend Frank Jansen of Frank Jansen Photography.

Samily Tree Photo Album - So Far

Peeper Tom

Tonight Bogey spotted a Peeper Tom.  No, that's not a typo.  There was a small frog plastered to one of the windows in the living room.  Bogey very kindly gave his "intruder" bark to let us know.  Understanding House Mate was in the kitchen and I was sitting so I couldn't see what he was barking at.  It took a while for us to understand what he was seeing that was such a threat to our security.  In fact, the photo I was able to take is about the same quality you get off security cameras so, it actually lends itself quite well to the story.

Good to know Mr. B is watching out for us.

You Say it's Your Birthday....

May is a heavy birthday month for me.  Without thinking hard, I can count 8 birthdays this month - including mine.  The one that makes me smile the most though occurs on the last day of the month.  May 31st will be Sam's 12th birthday.  The old man has slowed down a lot in the last couple of years but he still has a zest for life that makes me think he'll be around for at least another 12 years (God help me!).

For Sam's birthday this year, I want to put together a digital photo album of his offspring - or as many of them as I can find.  I've already contacted several people who have Sam sons and daughters but now I'm going to reach out to the blog community for photos of grand kids, great grand kids, great great grandkids, etc.  If you have a Cardi with Sam (Ch Yardican Roland) in the first 5 generations, would you be so kind as to email me a recent photo, preferably a head shot, along with the dog's registered name, call name and relation to Sam?  If you have group shots where all the dogs are related to Sam, that's fine too just be sure to include all that information.  Oh, and if the photo was taken by a professional, an attribution, so I can include that.  You can send the email to dina.delsman@gmail.com.

When I've compiled and labeled all the photos, I'll post them on FB and also on Flikr so you all can look through the pics.

Until Death Do Us Part - and Not Even Then!

Check out this article on CNN.  I think it's great - and something I've long thought about.  Although I plan to be cremated so maybe my ashes will just be mixed with the ashes of all my pets and we'll be sprinkled somewhere....

A year ago this weekend, Understanding House Mate and I flew to Chicago to see a litter of puppies and bring home her boy, Bogey.  It's hard to believe how much he has changed in that year.

Changes, changes, changes

I've made a few layout changes to the blog.  At the top, just under the header are links to individual "About Me" pages for each of the dogs.

In the right sidebar, at the very top is a link to a new blog I've started.  Check it out, tell your friends!  I hope it will be something fun and informative for all of us.

I've also added a list of the Cardi blogs I like to read regularly.  It's not nearly complete but it's a start.
